About: Mutono is a data scientist combining applied epidemiological modelling and data analytics in developing prevention and control strategies for infectious diseases in Africa. She is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA) at the University of Nairobi. Her research at CEMA is on control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases. Previously, she has worked on understanding the transmission dynamics and control of SARS-CoV-2 and rabies in Kenya, employing mathematical modelling techniques. She holds an MSc in Data Analytics from the University of Glasgow, an MSc and a PhD in Environment Governance from the University of Nairobi.
