Impact of Switching from Three- to Two-Dose Regimen for Pneumococcal Vaccine in Kenya
Project pitch
Recently, WHO has recommended mature programs with >80% vaccine coverage of more than five years for the pneumococcal vaccines to switch to two dose regimen. However, before the country does the switch, there is a need to assess the impact of the switch on pneumonia cases among children, and if it is prudent to switch in the whole country, or in some counties. The participants will develop a compartmental model to assess switching to two doses versus maintaining the three doses for the next five years. The project is great for participants interested in vaccine interventions.
